Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about our verification process.
No. Check My CoC is an independent, private service designed to help property buyers, sellers, landlords, and insurance claimants assess the completeness and internal consistency of their electrical Certificates of Compliance. We are not affiliated with the Department of Employment and Labour.
Not necessarily. Our system performs a rigorous administrative and logical check of the documentation provided. We do not inspect the physical electrical installation. A document might appear fully compliant while the physical installation has hidden faults.
If our system flags issues, we will provide you with a detailed report outlining what the problems are (e.g., missing test values, contradictory information, unsigned sections). You can take this report back to the electrician who issued the CoC and ask them to rectify the paperwork. If you need further assistance getting the installation or paperwork sorted, you can email danie@danelectrical.co.za for hands-on electrical and CoC help.
At this time, our automated system cannot dynamically query the Department of Employment and Labour's database to verify if an electrician's registration is currently active. We check the formatting and presence of the registration numbers provided.
We treat your data with strict confidentiality in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). Uploaded documents are stored securely and are only used for the purpose of generating your verification report.
Payments are handled by our gateway partner, Global Application Solutions (gasco.digital). During checkout and on your card or bank statement you may see 'Global Application Solutions' rather than 'Check My CoC' — this is normal and expected. Your tax invoice is still issued by Dan Electrical Projects (Pty) Ltd, the service provider.
