What Check My CoC is

Check My CoC is an independent, automated administrative review of South African electrical Certificates of Compliance (CoCs) and their accompanying test reports. It evaluates the documents you provide against a configurable set of rules covering completeness, internal consistency, and plausibility of the recorded values.

What Check My CoC is not

• It is not a legal opinion and does not constitute legal advice.
• It is not a government determination. Only the Department of Employment and Labour can issue a legal ruling on the validity of a CoC.
• It is not a physical inspection. We do not inspect your installation, your distribution board, or your wiring.
• It does not verify current registration of any electrician or contractor with the Department of Employment and Labour.
• It does not authenticate signatures or detect document forgery beyond visible inconsistencies.

How to use the result

Treat the Report as a useful first-line check that the paperwork "hangs together". For high-stakes decisions (property transfer, insurance claim, dispute), always combine the Report with the judgment of a qualified registered person, your conveyancer or attorney, and where appropriate the Department of Employment and Labour.
