Check My CoC was founded by a team of legal and technical experts who recognized a glaring gap in the South African property market: the vulnerability of laypeople when handed highly technical, legally binding electrical certificates.

Our Mission

We aim to empower property buyers, landlords, and consumers by demystifying the Certificate of Compliance. By applying strict automated rules to these documents, we surface administrative and logical errors that might otherwise go unnoticed until a crisis occurs—such as a delayed property transfer or a rejected insurance claim.

Our Approach

We operate at the intersection of regulatory knowledge and software engineering. Our rule engine is built upon the requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the SANS 10142-1 standard. We continuously refine our checks to ensure the highest level of accuracy in identifying defective paperwork.

While we do not replace the physical inspection of an electrician, we serve as an essential first line of defense against sloppy or fraudulent documentation.
